Covered by a permanent B&B license issued by the Council the Hideaway is a duplex with the owners living on the top floor in a very comfortable, private residence comprising of 1- King bedroom, 1- Queen bedroom & an office, with a 3rd bedroom on the lower level. There is a great functional kitchen, dining & lounge that opens on to wide liveable verandahs with a s/s BBQ, casual lounge setting and solid timber table that seats 8 people. Clear plastic blinds allow the veranda to be used in all conditions. The bottom floor is a similar layout with 3- bedrooms, 1- Queen, 1- Queen plus a single, 1- double plus 4- bunks. There is a 1- double/single bunk, which is an extra bedroom for the owners use. We use mainly pure borewater (but do have a rainwater tank) serviced by several pumps. The land is 600 m2 & has had the fire break cleared by QPWS providing a total area of over 5000m2. We grow an abundance of our own organic fruit and vegetables and the fishing is good. We have satellite television & good internet service. Mail is delivered Tuesday's & Thursdays. We have an annual occupancy rate of 80% plus, made up of guests mainly from Australia as well as from over the World. We have met some very interesting people, as have house sitters who look after the properties when we take 2-3 months holiday each year. Fraser Coast

ABOUT THIS REGION The Fraser Coast Region is an area in the Wide Bay-Burnett region of Queensland about 250 kilometres (160 mi) north of Brisbane. It is centred on the twin cities of Hervey Bay and Maryborough, and also contains Fraser Island. It was created in 2008 from a merger of the Cities of Maryborough and Hervey Bay and the Shires of Woocoo and most of Tiaro. The Fraser Coast region is a rare destination, filled with natural wonders and some of the world's most unique attractions. It boasts World Heritage listed Fraser Island, the largest sand island in the world, and the Great Sandy Strait with its calm protected waters and abundant marine life. And then there's Hervey Bay, the whale watching capital of Australia and a popular access point to the Southern Great Barrier Reef. On Fraser Island you can four wheel drive along the highway of sand on the ocean beaches or explore the sandy tracks that lead through thick forest to secret lakes, hidden in subtropical rainforest, their glassy surfaces reflecting the vegetation and deep blue sky. Home to possums, gliders, wallabies and dingoes, Fraser supports rainforest trees such as satinay and brush box, some more than 1000 years old. There is resort accommodation and camping facilities on the island and tours available to see the breathtaking sites including the Wreck of the Maheno, Central Station, Lake McKenzie, Eli Creek and The Cathedrals. Around 7000 Humpback whales migrate through the Fraser Coast each year - a 6000 kilometre journey from Antarctica. There is no better place to experience their antics and their awesome size than close up on a whale watching cruise in the protected waters of Hervey Bay. Pods of humpback whales seek out the haven of Hervey Bay's calm seas from July – November, in Hervey Bay’s designated Marine Park zone.
